I think I have a serious problem - I'm addicted to Orchids! Now this may not seem like a big issue to some, but to others, who've filled every suitable window-sill floor and space in their parents home with huge orchids - it is! Especially when they go out and buy (rescue!) two more, making it a grand total of 15!!!

It's becoming an issue... the main problem is that they won't all fit in my room at Uni when I go back in September so my Mum will be lumbered with their care for a year - oopsi! But I can't help it!

One of the one's I rescued today turned out to be infested with 'Mealy Bugs' which I spent the best part of an hour picking off today with tweezers and a cocktail stick - such a pain - but I didn't want to have to cut off all the flowers I think I need to stop buying Orchids for quite a while - I blame my dad, he bought me my first one!

Anyhoo, I've currently got 7 different Orchids in flower which I've been busy taking pictures of, but I'm afraid you're going to have to wait quite a while before you see them as I have a backlog of lots of photos and due to my pernickety-ness I have to upload those first

UPDATE: Well after ranting on saying that I have too many orchids what happens - my mum goes out and buys me another one!! It's great, it's a different type to my others, a "Dendrobium" whose stems are like bamboo but has large waxy leaves like the "Phalaenopsis" and has a spike of pale green flowers which look a lot like "Cymbidium's" - so all in all it's like a big smushed up mixture of all my other orchids and now I have a total of 16 - half of which are flowering!!
